Versus Vera

Argue with an AI out loud, free

Versus Vera is a voice debate against an AI. You pick a motion and a side, and Vera, Contradicto's AI debater, argues the other side out loud. Eleven AI jurors listen to you both and switch sides as the arguments land, so every turn shows you what persuaded them.

It is a quick way to practice thinking on your feet, test an opinion against a strong reply, or just argue about pineapple on pizza with someone who never gets tired. You play in the browser with your mic, and you can type instead if you cannot talk. You get 3 free games every day you sign in.

Pick her style and difficulty

Vera can be Friendly, Sharp, or Savage, and she has three difficulty levels.

A fair fight

An AI could out-talk anyone, so Vera's turns are capped. Each one is no longer than your last turn, with a 35-word minimum reply, and never longer than a person could say before the timer runs out. She speaks at a human debate pace of about 150 words a minute. The jury judges rebuttals and plausibility, not length, and treats unsourced numbers from both sides with the same skepticism.

Her voice

Vera reads her lines aloud in a synthetic voice, labeled as AI. She declines to argue for hatred, self-harm, or violence, even when a motion asks for it.

Questions

Is debating the AI free?

Yes. You get 3 free tokens every day you sign in, and one token hosts one game against Vera. Unused daily tokens bank up to 9.

Can the AI just talk longer than me?

No. Each of Vera's turns is capped at the word count of your last turn, with a 35-word minimum reply, so she cannot win on volume.

Can I practice a real debate topic?

Yes. Pick one of the motions in the packs or write your own. A motion you write passes a safety check first.
